And now, for something completely different!

So, one of the cool things that my new girlfriend (Hi dear!) has turned me on to is this hip cat named Jonathan Coulton. Mr. Coulton is a former VB Developer who is now a full time musician, releasing his work under the creative commons license. He's also very, very funny. He's got two songs that I'm linking the youtube video's to today - Code Monkey, and Re: Your Brains.

Code Monkey is a fairly interesting song about - you guessed it - a developer and his normal daily routine, life, and caffeine addiction. Mmmmm. Coffee.... If you listen closely, you also can't help but hear strains of Pat Benetar's "Hit me with your best shot" which was kind of disorienting the first time I heard it. :-) Here's the video:



Re: Your Brains is an excellent song about zombies. The basic premise is, these zombies have taken over part of Tom's office, and Tom gets an email from one of them about the situation. Here's the video:



In other news, do you have a BlackBerry or Palm device? Do you use Google Calendar? There's now a conduit between the two, at http://goosync.com/ which allows you to update your Google Calendar with all your appointments! This is a life saver for me, as it allows me to figure out where the hell I'm sleeping from one day to the next. More about that later.
